Responsibilities and Requirements : Typing. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to transport lightweight supplies. Ability to perform duties carefully with direction. Requires understanding that age specific patient care is provided with a special recognition for the neonate, child, and geriatric age groups and that appropriate age-specific knowledge in the performance of their distributive activities is important to the provision of pharmacy service. High school diploma. 1-2 years of pharmacy or related healthcare or technical experience OR completion of pharmacy technician course. Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician license. Illinois Pharmacy Technician CertificationJob Description:Under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist, the pharmacy technician engages in the preparation, control and distribution of medications. Performs other related duties as assigned Accountabilities: 1. Works with pharmacist to provide accurate and timely medications to patients 2. Ability to prepare sterile admixtures using aseptic technique under the supervision and direction of a pharmacist 3. Performs general Pharmacy tasks related to medication control, delivery, and processing. 4. Performs floor stock duties as assigned 5. Performs computer tasks correctly according to current department policies 6. Maintains appropriate licensure requirements, continuing education requirements, age competency requirements, and updates knowledge base and skills on an ongoing basis.
