Assistant Director of Facilities Management (Regular Full-time)

General Summary:
Administer facilities/physical plant functions in a multi-site (campuses and centers) environment and coordinate work units and support personnel to enable the institution to function under the "one college" concept.
Job Specifications:
Bachelor's degree in facilities management, mechanical or electrical engineering, business administration, or a related field with a minimum five years recent experience in managing facilities with a specific emphasis on higher education. Experience is to include firsthand knowledge of planning, design, construction, and building renovation and site work; energy management and conservation; and working knowledge of maintenance, grounds and housekeeping practices and operations. Should have budget preparation and relevant cost estimating experience. Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Real Property Administrator (RPA) or LEED accredited professional certificate preferred.
Job Duties:
1. Develop and manage the college's sustainability program.
2. Manage and improve on the energy and utility operations and programs.
3. Develop a process to select engineers and architects for college projects.
4. Improve upon and manage the renovation and improvement budget for the multi-campus college environment. Develop and manage the facilities and related department budgets.
5. Develop a continuous program to determine the condition of all college facilities and assets which will assist in requesting capital funds for maintenance, repair, renovation, and replacement. Make recommendations to the Director and others.
6. Submits detailed planning proposals based upon College growth, expansion, and development activities to internal departments and external requestors.
7. Make recommendations to improve efficiencies, cost savings and increase longevity of college assets.
8. Apply generally accepted operations management practices to a support and services department to the mission and vision of the college.
9. Build teamwork and consensus between facilities management and all other departments, organizations or groups internal and external to the college.
10. Manage the College's space inventory database.
11. Participate on various committees as requested.
12. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
