Responsibilities: Fully responsible for leading multiple development teams simultaneously while achieving targeted costs, timing, and customer specifications related to Graphics and Reflective products - Key integrator at business unit level between functions and regions (product development, purchasing, operations, marketing, etc.) to move projects forward - Cross-functional integration typically extends to the manager level (Div. Technology Managers, Commodity Managers, Marketing Managers) - Works closely with Marketing in the design/development of new products - Identify new products, technologies, suppliers, and materials - Support development of key technologies that enhance long-term proprietary strategic position - Resolve existing product issues by working closely with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Finance, Engineering, and Production) - Support all corporate and local safety policies and procedures - Utilize Six Sigma and Lean tools in support of projects - Support the implementation of the Enterprise Lean Sigma initiative at GDRP - Develop and execute experimental runs at the plants in support of the development of new or modified products Position Requirements: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Minimum BS Chemistry, Chemical/Polymer Engineering, advanced degree preferred. - 5 years experience, ideally in new product development, design, or engineering - Strong understanding of engineering and polymer/plastics fundamentals with solid conceptual skills; Strong project management and team leadership skills; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities - Strong analytical skills, highly motivated and quick learner with a high level of experience with design of experiments, statistical tests and tolerance testing - High energy self-starter - Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification a plus; demonstrated understanding of basic statistics for Six Sigma process..
