The McGraw-Hill Companies is one of the world's leading providers of information services and publishers of educational, business and professional information Perform program management functions for the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system unifying all financial management functions across The McGraw-Hill Companies.  Provide management/coordination of a portfolio of projects implementing ERP Help develop strategy for ERP implementation Work with vendors and MGH staff to create a Help Desk supporting ERP Develop presentations/updates for Tech Ops and other venues on ERP projects Serve as second/backup to VP, Enterprise Technology Solutions Implementation   OTHER REQUIRED ACCOUNTABILITIES Capacity planning with GO&I. Project sequencing. Each ERP project will have a dedicated manager; some will be drawn from technology, and some from finance. The tech project managers will report to this position. Organize and attend meetings related to the ERP program for issue resolution.  Co-chair operating committee to that end. Meet with vendors and help resolve issues. Facilitate communication between stakeholders and ERP staff. Meet with HR Director to manage/resolve staffing issues.   Training and experience in best practices for technology management, using a waterfall methodology for project specification.  Required for developing requirements for our implementation partner. Experience working across departments to achieve project goals.  Required to help coordinate efforts of GO&I, MGH application technology, and QA. Ability to resolve conflicts and manage ambiguity.  Required to manage stakeholder expectations while ensuring that all business requirements are achieved Must see beyond artifacts of current financial technology processes to essential elements for a successful implementation.  The Lawson system is fed by a multitude of batch processes created by the systems we need to integrate.  The batch process model is not essential to the new platform. Must bridge gap between financial systems users and technology support team.  The relationships between these two groups are grounded in the requirements of our legacy processes.  That relationship must evolve based on an open dialogue facilitated by multiple workshops/meetings on how to evolve our processes toward the best practices implemented by the ERP system. Must be able to learn enough of the technology to communicate effectively with vendors, General Operations and Infrastructure, internal development, and QA.  Will require training and active knowledge acquisition to become familiar with the ERP space generally, and the ERP platform software we will select specifically.
