Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the purchasing activities for Straumanns North-American Hub. This requires close collaboration with all of the Hubs departments in defining the purchasing requirements, in selecting and evaluating suppliers, in price and contract negotiations, and in meeting corporate saving levels. Major Responsibilities of the Position: Partner for helping define the Hubs purchasing requirements (supporting mainly, but not limited to, sales, marketing, and educational programs) in order to best fulfill such requirements Lead/coordinate supplier selection and evaluation process Lead/coordinate agreement/contract negotiations Be the key contact person for relevant suppliers Monitor and enforce compliance to internal policies, procedures, targets and to external laws and regulations Collaborate in setting budgets, targets or other financial goals and forecasts Develop and lead a target saving program Other Duties: Participate in other cost and/or efficiency improvement projects Maintain/edit pertinent procedures, forms and provide training when required Backup person to other logistics/purchasing functions as required Analyze inventory development when applicable. Requirements: College degree, preferred in business administration, followed by 5 years in purchasing with high level exposure to sales and marketing activities Demonstrated SAP or other ERP system implementation and/or usage experience Medical device industry experience or in another highly regulated industry is a plus Demonstrated ability to lead inter-departmental projects is a plus Availability for travel Required Knowledge and Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Well organized and target oriented Proficiency in MS-Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint Work Environment and Physical Demands General office environment..
