Responsibilities : To perform activities aimed at customer focused transportation solutions. Duties Include but are not limited to: Provides basic transportation assistance to GCS organization on customer transactions and evaluates transportation performance standards. Utilizes knowledge of GCS direct ship model, shipping/receiving locations, carriers of products, customer requirements and basic level of systems interface.Communicates with assigned GCS contacts and 3M locations on operational transportation issues to ensure service requirements are met. Assists other work group analysts, division and plant materials control, shipping/receiving and carrier personnel with short-term operational and analytical task-related activities.  Monitors changes to procedures to foster transportation objectives such as cost reduction, improved customer service and improved inventory utilization.  Completes special projects assigned by supervisor or lead analyst. Acquires additional logistics and human resource education and training courses as needed.

Requirements :Bachelors Degree of 1 year experience in Transportation/LogisticsPreferred Between 1 to 3 years of related job experience are generally required. understanding of domestic and international Transportation industry knowledge of all transportation modes.Transportation operational skills.Knowledge of contract negotiations to support GCS direct-ship process.Knowledge of the domestic and/or international transportation industryRate negotiation skillsAnalytical skills and systems abilities (Access, Excel, etc.)Benefit Information:This position is under Corporate Staff Groups.
