Responsibilities : Overview:Plan and implement public relations strategies and tactics for Carlson Hotels Worldwide, The Americas, and its brands including media relations, social media efforts, publication, online editorial content support, special events and program implementation. Serve as a primary initial contact for general CHW and brand media inquiries and hotel-level support. Also, provide writing support for other corporate communications projects.:Corporate PR:Provide creative input and research support for public relations director on planning and implementation of corporate PR strategies and tactics supporting key initiatives and campaigns.Provide media relations outreach efforts, independently or coordinated with agency involved, to support key corporate and brand initiatives, corporate multi-brand promotions or partnerships.Manage media relations activity, including handling general media requests, arranging for interviews, review of editorial calendars and leads and pro-actively work on pitching and placement of news stories, as well as support on crisis communications. Work with Associate PR Specialist on photo requests.Write news releases and conduct media relations outreach fro assigned key projects and handle global development wrap-up releases (new signings and additions).Work with Associate PR Specialist in support of media accommodations requests.Develop custom media distribution lists and manage distribution efforts for assigned projects sometimes in tandem with PR coordinator or agency.

Requirements :Bachelor degree in Public Relations, Communications or Journalism. of 3-5 years of experience in corporate public relations or public relations agency and experience in hospitality, travel or service industry a plus.Strong background in news writing, media relations, social media tools and blogger relations, reporting or related communications skills including exceptional writing skills for news releases, media relations materials and corporate communications.Consumer and trade media relations experience, including ability to pitch news story ideas to media, with track record of success.Project planning, coordination and management experience, including community relations and special events.
