Sous Chef - (US-MO-Saint Louis - 63199) Minimum Education: None Job Type: Full Time Email this job to yourself or to a friend | Job Match Test | Resume Guide Click Here to Apply Online Responsibilities : Provide supervision to kitchen staff ensuring work procedures, quality standards and menu specifications are adhered to; ensures all stations are properly stocked and set up.Observe, monitor and ensure staff adherence to health department regulations regarding food handling, sanitation, storage, temperature, and cleanliness of work environment.Order food products to par levels and adjust food product par and prep production levels as needed based on sales volumes; maintain and conduct accurate inventories.Ensure food entering restaurants meet corporate specifications and health standards; maintain proper rotation of food to ensure quality and freshness.Ensure kitchen and equipment are well maintained by scheduling routine preventative maintenance and cleaning.Maintain control of the kitchen to ensure staffing levels are appropriate based on business volumes; schedule kitchen labor to budget and monitor weekly labor costs.Reads food orders from computer printouts, and prepares food items according to established menu plans.Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling or piercing them with utensils.Ensure proper communication between front of house and back of house operations to ensure a quality guest experience; perform daily line checks with front of the house managers.
