Should have an advanced degree in law or related discipline. Regional specializations and associated language skills preferred. Consultants must have extensive experience in at least one of the following areas: training on and implementation of international human rights conventions; establishing or serving in truth commissions or other forms of transitional justice; prosecutor or investigator in international criminal courts and/or war crime tribunals; investigation and/or prosecution of civil rights violations; civil rights law and/or dispute mediation; international human rights law and human rights public awareness; humanitarian law; human and civil rights policy reform advocacy; conflict mitigation, management, transformation, and reconciliation; community-based peace building and conflict resolution, and post-conflict peace support; human rights monitoring and abuse investigation; discrimination and harassment prevention; social, economic, and/or environmental justice; police and/or military reform; preventing or mitigating human trafficking and violence against women including sexual and domestic violence.
