Responsibilities and Requirements : Human Rights Specialists - WorldwideThe candidate should have 10+ years of relevant professional experience and 5+ years of international experience in developing countries. Should have an advanced degree in law or related discipline. Regional specializations and associated language skills preferred. Consultants must have extensive experience in at least one of the following areas: training on and implementation of international human rights conventions; establishing or serving in truth commissions or other forms of transitional justice; prosecutor or investigator in international criminal courts and/or war crime tribunals; investigation and/or prosecution of civil rights violations; civil rights law and/or dispute mediation; international human rights law and human rights public awareness; humanitarian law; human and civil rights policy reform advocacy; conflict mitigation, management, transformation, and reconciliation; community-based peace building and conflict resolution, and post-conflict peace support; human rights monitoring and abuse investigation; discrimination and harassment prevention; social, economic, and/or environmental justice; police and/or military reform; preventing or mitigating human trafficking and violence against women including sexual and domestic violence.
