Responsibilities : The Shaw Group provides premier engineering, design, construction, and maintenance services to government and private-sector clients in a wide array of industries, including the energy, environmental, infrastructure, and emergency response markets. Summary: The position requires GIS support and applicants must have an understanding of GIS, mobile technologies, cartography and relational database management systems. Understanding should include geodatabase and annotation functionality (SDSFIE experience is preferred). Applicants must demonstrate the ability to identify and execute common GIS and database tasks and successfully communicate actions to senior staff. Applicants are expected to support is cross-functional and multi-disciplined teams. Individuals are expected to follow Standard Operating Procedures where applicable and will be reporting to senior staff. Ability to communicate technical needs to senior staff is required. Successful candidates will be able to work independently while functioning as part of a large team (production experience is preferred).

Requirements : Possess a Bachelors Degree in Geography, GIS or related earth science. Qualified candidates will have 4 years of demonstrated ArcGIS experience Creating, collecting, receiving, transferring data Implementing and maintaining company database(s) and vendor applications. Software Skills Required: ESRI ArcGIS version 9.3 (View/Editor/Info) Graphics (Illustrator, CorelDraw) Trimble GPS technologiesAdditional Details:Software Skills Preferred (two of the following): IMS, Spatial Analyst, Geostatistical Analyst, ERDAS, GeoExpress, MicroStation, AutoCAD.
