Materials Postdoctoral Fellow - (US-CA-Berkeley - 94720) Minimum Education: None Job Type: Full Time Jobcode: N/A Email this job to yourself or to a friend | Job Match Test | Resume Guide Click Here to Apply Online Responsibilities: This foundational knowledge will empower us to manipulate nanocrystal properties and characterize their ensemble interactions with the environment in diverse energy-related applications currently under investigation at the Molecular Foundry. Key Responsibilities Perform quantitative analysis of surface chemical structure and dynamics and investigate the impact of surface properties on optical and electronic characteristics of nanocrystals and their macroscopic assemblies. Advanced application of some of the following materials characterization methods to semiconductor nanocrystal-ligand complexes, with quantitative interpretation: nuclear magnetic and electron paramagnetic resonance, isothermal titration calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, x-ray diffraction, Raman and optical absorption/emission. Work collaboratively, reporting results internally to fellow researchers through monthly meetings and externally through conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications. Requirements: Recent Ph.D. in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or a related field with an emphasis on physical chemistry of materials. Critical analysis and communication skills should be demonstrated through research publications in peer reviewed journals. In addition to strong laboratory experience in related research, the successful candidates should have demonstrated ability to work in a cross-disciplinary team and to communicate ideas and results effectively. .
