A global supplier of plastic resins and compounds widely used in automotive, healthcare, consumer electronics, transportation, performance packaging, building and construction, telecommunications and optical media applications has an immediate need for a Production Engineer. The company manufactures and compounds polycarbonate, ABS, ASA, PPE and more. Responsibilities: Ensures Business Line, Operations and Supply Chain are fully coordinated Converts Business Plan to daily operations plan Provides technical expertise in the daily operations of the unit Provides troubleshooting expertise Ensure reliability issues are coordinated Accountable for creation of safety and environmental concernsQualifications: Typically 3-7 years minimum experience in the unit(s)/compounding technology assigned Thorough understanding of unit operations, process equipment and technology Thorough understanding of the sales and operations planning process; production system capabilities and limitations; and knowledge of the different conversion costs associated with product mix in a compounding or converting operations unit Ability to use simple statistical tools such as fish bone, histogram, Pareto charts, etc. for data analysis Ability to collect relevant data (vibration, temp, metallurgical, etc), history trends, process information, RCA results, and other data to identify or troubleshoot process problems Ability to use in depth analysis and structured methodology to identify the true root causes of a situation or eventRequirements:BS Degree in Chemical or Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 3-5 years experience in manufacturing environmentCertification in Six- Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt desiredExperience in Chemical or Plastics industries highly preferred
