Responsibilities : The Clinical Research Associate supports the Cancer Center Research Program by coordinating vital logistical and medical processes and procedures that take place in clinical trials research. The Clinical Research Associate coordinates strategies for recruitment of study participants, enrolls participants, and manages data collection and reporting for institutionally approved research studies. The incumbent ensures that requirements are met for subject enrollment and compliance from entry through follow-up, and that research is conducted in accordance with federal and state regulations, and Sutter Health Central policies and procedures. The incumbent serves as a resource regarding clinical research and compliance for investigators, nurses, pharmacists, pathologists, radiologists and other health care personnel.The Clinical Research Associate supports the Cancer Center Research Program by coordinating vital logistical and medical processes and procedures that take place in clinical trials research. Requirements :Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in biology, nursing or a health-related field required. Must be eligible and attain the status of Certified Clinical Research Professional or Certified Clinical Research Coordinator through the Society of Clinical Research Associates or Association of Clinical Research Professionals within one year of being hired.Knowledge: Knowledge of medical terminology required. Knowledge of oncology and/or clinical research preferred. Knowledge of research ethics, patient confidentiality and patient rights preferred.Experience: of two years experience in working with patients either through direct patient care or in the conduct of clinical research required.
