Responsibilities : The Laboratory Manager functions in a supervisory capacity with the respect to the technical, operational, and management aspects of office materials and construction materials testing laboratory. Responsible for making sure project deadlines are met by providing proper scheduling and organization of items to be tested. Responsible to insure that lab technicians are performing the testing, associated paperwork and computations in accordance with the Quality System Guideline Manual and applicable standards. Advises technicians of project work scopes, budgets, profitability goals, chargeability goals, and monitors the same. The Laboratory Manager is expected to have significant interaction with clients, insuring client service in accordance with company values and participation in all aspects of business development. Works with and solicits input from the engineering and other technical staff with respect to the technical aspects of the work. Laboratory Managers may also perform Project Manager and Technician services and, where qualified, engineering work.

Requirements :6-7 years of related experience, 3-4 years of designated professional experience and knowledge of test procedures, applicable laws and regulations required. 1-2 years coordination/supervisory experience preferredProven experience managing a construction materials testing lab and/or geotechnical lab with thorough knowledge of testing proceduresNICET Level III (Level IV preferred) or ACI Laboratory Level I (Level II preferred), or equivalent certification required. Professional Engineer license preferred. WABO Laboratory Supervisor or ability to obtain registration requiredStrong communication skills and the ability to effectively leadEducationAA from two-year college or technical school required, or equivalent. Bachelors Degree in civil engineering preferred.
