Responsibilities : As an Underwriter you will work to manage assigned accounts, select profitable risks and build a profitable portfolio of accounts. In addition to a wide range of benefits, as a direct employee, your insurance education and training are paid by us.:Work with brokers and sales to appropriately select large construction risks, evaluate and recommend program structure, coverage, services and pricing to achieve a balanced portfolio and long-term profitability.Visit policyholders and producers in order to retain existing accounts, maintain business relationships and develop new opportunities in your territory.Review engineering information, visit job sites to assess exposures, risk quality and compliance within company guidelines.Communicate and collaborate across Departments - such as Claims, Loss Control, Legal, Credit, Production-- to provide solutions/recommendations and achieve organizational success.Evaluate reinsurance requirements and implement appropriate action.Actively continue to improve personal knowledge and practices of the insurance industry through work experience, in-house instruction, insurance specific designations

Requirements :Bachelors degree in business, finance or engineering (Masters preferred), continuing insurance education desiredStrong analytical skills with the ability to analyze large amount of data and provide business recommendationsFast learner with the capability to learn business applications & pricing models, read and understand Financial reportsSuccess driven individual who has demonstrated 3-10 years of success in a commercial underwriting roleThorough knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, contracts & underwriting guidelinesAbility to interact successfully with customers to build & maintain good business relationships.Negotiation and pricing skillsIdeal candidate would have knowledge of the construction industry and understand of building means, methods and techniquesHard work, honesty, integrity and unwavering business ethicsBenefits:We recognize that talented people are attracted to companies that provide competitive pay, comprehensive benefits packages and outstanding advancement opportunities.
