Responsibilities : Employ polymer synthesis technologies to produce spherical particles of desired size ranges, manufacture magnetic and diagnostic products and dyed microspheres. Use size purification and separation techniques to make spherical materials manufactured meet written specifications.Other duties may be added as required by management.Major :Carry out production duties as defined by management. This requires completing lab notebook, batch records and other required paperwork completely and accurately. Perform quality evaluations of product and raw materials analysis to ensure particles meet written specifications. Follow written and oral instructions and procedures to complete assignments. Use time management skills to produce materials required according to schedule. Support on time delivery for customer satisfaction goals.Update and recommend changes to existing procedures as required.

Requirements : BS/MS in Polymer Chemistry or Materials Science (Production Polymer Scientist 1 experience suffices) with 4-8 years experience in a laboratory. Experience in particle/polymer science required. Must have good math and oral and written communication skills. The use of computers is essential, must be proficient in MS Word and MS Excel. Must have some experience using a microscope. Good attention to detail and careful work habits are required. Other necessary required skills: Accurate weighing and pipetting, reactor setup/breakdown and safe chemical handling skills, analytical equipment, filtration, water bath, pH meter, conductivity meter, buret.Think Thermo Scientific for superior analytical instruments, laboratory equipment, software, services, consumables and reagents.
