Responsibilities : We are delighted that you have chosen to explore the career opportunities available with .Primary Characteristics:The Underwriting Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the underwriting production of the Wholesale Branch. include monitoring and maintaining daily file distribution to insure proper turn times are met. The Underwriting Team Leader will assist the National Underwriting Manager in building a productive team, developing branch underwriters, inspiring commitment and communicate clearly and with respect. The Leader is responsible for overseeing all underwriting, appraisal review and closing functions for their team and reviewing the quality of loans originated by the team. Essential Functions: Assist National Underwriting Manager to train and direct underwriting staff. Work with Branch Operations Manager to ensure smooth flow within the branch between Credit Ops and Sales. Ensure that credit underwriting is done in a timely fashion and in compliance. Assist National Underwriting Manager and Branch Operations Manager with Quality Control issues within Branch. Provide research, responses, training suggestions and underwriting procedures as findings require. Maintain regular communication with the National Underwriting Manager to ensure clear understanding of corporate publications/announcements and maintain regular communication to staff and sales team.

Requirements :Must have excellent communication and decision making skills. Must have strong problem-solving skills. Must understand the broker/Wholesale relationship. In-depth understanding of FNMA and investor underwriting guidelines. In-depth understanding of mortgage loan process. Must be able to maintain a positive attitude at all times with the ability to motivate and encourage the underwriters to meet their production goals. Strong ability to lead the staff underwriters within the branch to meet both turn times and quality requirements. Ability to work in a fast paced production environment. Strong analytical skills and ability to make sound decisions. Underwrite loans as needed. Training and Experience: Must have 5 of Conventional/FHA Underwriting. Supervisory experience preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and must be an excellent team player. Strong conflict resolution and problem solving skills. Good time management and process efficiency skills. Wholesale background preferred.
