Responsibilities : The successful candidate will perform advanced networking research and development including analyzing the suitability of existing IP-based protocols for operation in challenging mobile wireless environments and proposing modifications or alternative protocols. Key job functions include designing and evaluating dynamic routing, network management, and quality-of-service mechanisms. The candidate will explore protocol performance using modeling & simulation tools and create software/hardware prototype systems in a lab environment. The successful candidate will support or lead research projects, including: writing proposals, defining project schedules, authoring research reports and conference papers, and briefing research results to sponsors.

Requirements :BS or equivalent and 5 years of related experience or MS or equivalent and 3 years of related experience or PhD and 1 year of related experienceDesired PhD with 4-15 years of experience. Skills:Demonstrated success in conducting network research. Detailed knowledge of network protocol fundamentals including IP routing and data-link protocols. C software development skills. Modeling and simulation experience, preferably using Opnet. Excellent analytical skills.Desired SkillsFamiliarity with Linux OS and Cisco IOS. Understanding of wireless data-link protocols.
