Responsibilities : The avionics/electronics mechanic performs unit level, intermediate and limited depot level maintenance on communication, navigation, and possibly tactical communications security, identification friend or foe (IFF), and flight control equipment. Repairs, replaces and performs operational and preventive checks and alignments on avionics and potentially aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, and controlled cryptographic equipment. Troubleshoots equipment and traces avionic and equipment wiring harnesses using technical manuals and schematic drawings to diagnose and isolate faults and effect repairs. Performs unit maintenance on special and common hand tools and Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment Requisitions and maintains shop and bench stock for repair of aircraft avionics equipment. Prepares forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. Alters or modifies material according to AD approved modification work orders. Evaluates maintenance operations and facilities for compliance with directives, technical manuals, work standards, safety procedures, and operational policies. Performs maintenance trend analysis and applies production control, quality control and other maintenance management principles and procedures to avionic repair shop operations. May instruct student personnel and conduct technical training in aircraft avionic, flight control, and stabilization equipment maintenance, supply, and safety techniques. Evaluates the technical training program.

Requirements :Aircraft electricians must possess the following additional qualifications:(a) A physical demands rating, of very heavy.(b) Normal color vision.(c) FAA approved airframe and power plant license required. Formal training and completion of a US Army resident course conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army Aviation School is highly desirable.:(a) Fluent in Iraqi Arabic(b) Current certification in Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI)Work Location:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
