Click Here to Apply OnlineResponsibilities : Senior Special Projects SpecialistThe candidate reports to the Special Projects Manager. Fully adhere to firm confidentiality standards to include, attorney client correspondence and communications. Provide back-up and support to Special Projects Manager. Participate in quality review of documents/filings prepared by other members of the department. Provide assistance with higher-level or advanced projects within the Special Projects Department. Prepare, file and administer all US Patent Re-Issue Applications. Prepare, file and administer all US Patent Requests for Re-Examination, both Ex Parte and Inter Partes. Prepare and file all Information Disclosure Statements post completion of the Application Filing and/or completion of Missing Parts.
Requirements : submissions for attorney review and undersign. Manage Prior Art Files for Duty of Disclosure matters in US Patent cases. Prepare and file all Requests for Corrections and/or Requests for Certificates of Correction. Review and prepare reporting letters to clients regarding: Notice of Allowance, Issue Notification and Letters Patent. Attend to Post Allowance Filings submissions to include, but not limited to: Issue/Publication fees, 1.312 Amendments and/or Priority Documents. Review and analyze Patent Term Adjustment (PTA) and file a petition to correct PTA where necessary. Handle and process large Assignment Transfers. Audit Transfers-In files to include, but not limited to: creation of new record in firm IP portfolio management system, docket dates associated with new record, and file necessary PTO document submissions (Change of Correspondence Address; and Power of Attorney), and forward to the Operations Department for barcode handling. Audit Files for Transfers-Out to include: closing existing record in firm IP Portfolio Management System and filing necessary PTO documents (Change of Correspondence Address and Revocation of Power of Attorney), and forward to the Operations Department for delivery to new firm. Carry out and/or assist in special tasks or duties as requested by the Special Projects Manager. Adhere to internal timetable for handling and clearing the department docket. Four-year degree. 3+ years of combined comprehensive US and Foreign Patent and Trademark prosecution experience. Related work experience may be used in lieu of formal education. Knowledge of and experience with administrative issues related to an Intellectual Property and legal environment.
