Responsibilities : A position as a Research Technician is available in the Department of Biochemistry. The successful applicant will join a research program in yeast genetics, molecular biology and biochemistry and will conduct experiments to address fundamental biological questions in the areas of signal transduction, gene transcription and/or lipid metabolism related to diabetes and cancer. In addition to performing experiments related to the research goals of the laboratory, the position will involve data processing and organization and general laboratory responsibilities. Opportunities exist for advanced training in genome-wide genetic and molecular studies. include:Genetic engineering and implementation of genetic screens in yeastAnalysis of gene transcription in vivo and in vitroExpression of recombinant proteins in bacteriaBiochemical assays of protein association and posttranslational modification.

Requirements :B.A. or B.S. in a Related Science or equivalent skills and experience2-4 1/2 years related experience.Experience in molecular biology or biochemistry strongly preferred.
