Responsibilities and Requirements : Cloud Services and Switching Technology Group seeks an experienced software Product Manager for our flagship $3B annual run rate Catalyst 6500 product line. The product manager should have an entrepreneurial drive to help shape the software roadmap for various technologies and solutions on the Catalyst 6500 product line. You will be part of a small team responsible for crafting the software strategy and roadmap for a multi-billion dollar business unit by effectively partnering with the business and engineering side of the house. Key responsibilities include: - Engaging with customers, external partners, internal support organizations and other business units to define and drive product requirements. - Understanding, enhancing and articulating the value, positioning and long term vision of the product to Cisco field, customers and analysts. - Understanding competitors' positioning and strategies and developing Cisco strategy, positioning and response; - Help partner with broader Cisco team to drive Key Architectural and Solution Portfolio Leadership for key initiatives. - Field Updates: Use various forums such as VT calls, team calls, and roadshows to update on Catalyst 6500 roadmap and value proposition to drive sales. - Drive Deals - Partner with account teams and TME teams to support deal situations as needed. - Launches : Proactively identify product launch opportunities and either drive or align technology differentiations behind major launch initiatives. Includes all aspects of the launch from compiling, messaging, presentation creation and delivery (to analysts), press release writing, CEC announcement writing, managing the CMO launch engagement process etc. The ideal candidate would have Detailed understanding of Ethernet, routing protocols, IP networking, Virtualization (VRFs, MPLS) and other networking technologies. Previous Product Manager and/or Sales Engineering experience in high-end switching area Ability to work independently with only minimal management oversight. Excellent written, oral and presentation skills along with superior Flexibility in a fast paced, ever-changing, deadline-driven environment.
