Fujikura supplies key optical and electronic components to medical device companies globally and is best known in the medical market for it's pressure sensors, flexible printed circuits, micro-coaxial cables and high resolution image fibers.The summer intern will research potential applications which involve minimally invasive light based treatments that would benefit from precise targeting of light power.Over a period of 2 to 3 months the intern responsibilities include to: Identify applications suitable for use with 's concept device Identify existing treatment methods Identify existing companies and devices associated with the treatment. Identify MD's or researchers who are active in this area. Identify patents and research in the area of treatment Help evaluate, prioritize and recommend specific applications which have the best fit for 's target device. Help outline a plan to move the concept device from idea to market release.

Requirements : BS Biomedical Eng. preferred Must be willing to sign intellectual property and non-compete agreement. (Narrowly focused on our specific concept area) College junior or senior working towards Biomedical engineering degree will also be considered. Experience with Lasers or other light based medical treatments Endoscopic imaging systems New treatment or new product development Early stage medical treatment concept or market studies New device clinical studies Proficient in MS Office - Power Point, Excel, Outlook and Word Strong written and verbal communication skillsCompetencies for Success: Possess strong research skills and natural curiosity Must be comfortable engaging researchers or doctors that they don't know in discussions related to the concept area.
