Responsibilities : Managing patent disputes in a variety of jurisdictions and driving matters to successful resolution. - Teaming and working collaboratively with the litigation group on litigation matters to drive matters to successful resolution. - Serving as a negotiator and decision-maker in initiating, structuring and negotiating patent dispute resolutions as appropriate. - Managing third party patent claims and evaluating licensing/acquisition of third party patented technology. - Managing patent re-examinations and designarounds. - Initiating, structuring, negotiating and drafting complex patent licenses, settlement agreements and other IP-related contracts. - Acting as a trusted adviser to business units, executives, engineers, and other legal team members. - Being a team player and working cooperatively with the litigation team to manage outside counsel for IP litigation matters. - Other duties may include: advising on patent acquisition recommendations; overseeing IP due diligence and issue resolution relating to M&A activities; patent portfolio strategy; standards; evangelization; training and education.

Requirements : 10 to 12 years experience in patent disputes and patent licensing. - JD from top law school. - High technical aptitude/technical degree required (EE or CS preferred). - Member of California Bar; member of the Patent Bar a plus. - Experience with networking technology preferred but not required. S- Detailed knowledge and understanding of, and on-hands experience in, patent law, litigation and licensing. - Able to understand and quickly grasp different areas of technology; able to analyze patents in a practical way. - Strategic, creative thinker with excellent communication, business judgment, problem solving, negotiation, drafting and follow-through skills. - Able to determine and execute appropriate action/solutions to complex legal and business issues. - Able to analyze complex business, technical and legal situations and to develop and implement recommendations that meet the business, technical and legal needs of the company.
