Responsibilities and Requirements : Part-time Patent AgentThe candidate will prepare, file and prosecute patent applications. Will coordinate patent and prior art searches. Conduct freedom of operation analyses and support patent litigations, appeals, interferences and oppositions. Manage own patent docket and coordinate filings and responses with outside counsel. Interact with staff scientists and collaborators, presenting on intellectual property issues, and working as part of a team.The candidate should preferably have an advanced degree in molecular and cellular biology or biomedical science. Should be registered before the USPTO. Must have 1-3 years of experience in U.S. patent preparation and prosecution. CA State Bar membership would be a plus. Knowledge and experience in the field of molecular diagnostics is preferred.
