Responsibilities : Job Summary:Manager of the department responsible for drafting, submitting and securing insurance department approval of annuity and group insurance contracts in compliance with state law.Serves as the state compliance resource with respect to contract-related issues.Main Accountabilities:Accountable for the planning, development, and implementation of strategies and processes in order to:Ensure that policy contracts and related forms are in compliance with state law.Enable speedy state approvals for both product and compliance initiatives.Permit appropriate record-keeping of new laws and regulations, filing experience, and approved forms.Provide timely communication of approval status and final approved forms.Considerations involving expense, resources needs, task dependencies, timing and communications must all be coordinated to produce timely and accurate deliverables.Researches and analyzes filing requirements and regulatory issues.Manages a team of dedicated compliance professionals.Enables the team to develop and maintain effective working relationships with regulators and industry peers.Maintains regular communication with product managers, product attorneys, and compliance personnel to facilitate proper planning of filing projects.Works proactively with Product Managers, Product Actuaries, and Product Counsel to ensure that contract language meets business objectives while maintaining compliance with state law.Ensures compliance with laws and regulations applicable to filing and approval of Group and Annuity contracts and related forms.Advises management in a timely manner on changes and trends in states laws, regulations and requirements affecting Group and Annuity contract forms.Keeps abreast of current filing-related topics in the industry, such as the Interstate Compact, and makes appropriate recommendations or implements procedures as needed.

Requirements :At least ten years of relevant professional experience, with background in compliance, law, actuarial, and/or group or annuity products. Managerial, project management, and process reengineering experience required.Detailed group insurance and annuity product knowledge required. MS Word and Excel required.SERFF and ACCESS experience preferred.Requires excellent analytical, problem-solving, creativity, logistical, communication skills.
