Responsibilities and Requirements : Strategic development and management of public relations and communications strategy and tactics in support of the initiatives of the Avon Foundation and Avon global philanthropy, a program that has awarded more than $725 million and includes events and programs in breast cancer, domestic violence, women's empowerment and emergency/disaster relief, with the ultimate goal of advancing the mission of the Avon Foundation: to improve the lives of women globally.Key metrics include advancing the awareness and recognition of the work and impact of the Avon Foundation for Women by securing quality press coverage, increasing gross media impressions and successfully creating and disseminating a wide variety of communications materials. Strong matrix responsibility to incorporate all Avon assets, including corporate and foundation celebrity, alliances to advance awareness and secure support for Avon's causes. Principal DutiesDevelop and oversee execution of external PR strategies and tactics to drive year-round media coverage of all Avon Foundation programs and support global PR partners in their local efforts. A few of the key programs include: Avon Walks, Walk Around the World for Breast Cancer, Walk the Course Against Domestic Violence, fundraising products, conferences, meetings, new grants, achievements/impact; secure a variety of PR agencies and consultants to execute strategic plans and manage the work of the contributing partners and vendors; lead media team at events in person or remotely.

Requirements :7-10 solid years of relevant PR experience at an agency or corporate or philanthropic institution that deals with more than consumer products (this is NOT a beauty PR job)- BA degree (can be in any topic - liberal arts is terrific - does not need to be a communications degree!)- Strong writing skills- Hands on knowledge of all PR processes and services needed to develop and manage a PR campaign start to finish - PR agencies, media tracking, newswire services, etc- Great verbal communications skills and personal presentation- Ability to oversee/manage creative and print production processes- Relevant computer skills for communications: word, excel, power point, etc- Knowledge of new technology and media to leverage for PR (blogs, YouTube etc) is very helpful- Excellent interpersonal skills and maturity are critical:- Stay calm and think on your feet- Manage PR agencies to drive results.
