Responsibilities and Requirements : Provides administrative assistance to ensure medical records are up-to-date and readily accessible upon request.  Provides customer service to the public on behalf of the Health Information Management Department.Processes, files and records Living Wills/Durable Powers of Attorney in an accordance with department policy.Pulls requested charts for reviews in an accurate and timely manner.  Produces lists and pulls charts for weekly Tumor Conference.Locates and checks out charts requested by nursing units, Emergency Room and other ancillary departments.Greets physicians and helps pull and or locate charts for physicians as needed.Responsible for handling walk-in, phone and faxed requests for patient medical records in a timely and courteous manner in accordance with Release of Information policy and procedures.Assembles, logs and analyzes Day Surgery medical records in a timely manner, as needed.Promptly and courteously answers telephones and greets visitors.Maintains an orderly work area.Receives incoming mail (including labs). Sorts mail and delivers to appropriate individuals in a timley manner.Manages petty cash. Reimburses receipts in accordance with accounting policies. Prepares deposits and check request timely and accurately.Performs weekly follow up of records signed out of department through the use of the Meditech Record Locator module. Tracks down untimely returns, notifies appropriate individuals, and updates system as necessary.  Provides administrative assistance to ensure medical records are up-to-date and readily accessible upon request.  Provides customer service to the public on behalf of the Health Information Management Department.Processes, files and records Living Wills/Durable Powers of Attorney in an accordance with department policy.Pulls requested charts for reviews in an accurate and timely manner.
