Responsibilities : Under the supervision of the SeniorGIS Analyst or department head, the GIS Analyst I performs standardgeographic information system (GIS) work while developingprofessional proficiency.Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situationswhich may include the following:Conducts data gathering, conversion and analysis of GIS data.Prepares data documentation or metadata for GIS Projects.Prepares maps and exhibits with GIS data setsParticipates in client needs analyses. Maintains continued knowledge of technology developments in theGIS field and use of GIS software.

Requirements :B.S. or B.A. in Geography,Computer Science or related GIS Environmental DisciplineMinimal experience is required of incumbents with directly relatedBachelor's Degree; no experience required with a Master's degree.Good interpersonal and computerskills and capable of developing technical writing and communicationskills. Familiarity with GIS technology and software packagespreferred.
