Responsibilities : Oversee the OS engineering effort of major projects and provide future looking technical guidance to the engineers in the group.Job FunctionsProvides engineering design expertise byActively contributing to the ongoing software design and development process of the group.Tracking technical innovations both within and outside of the industry.Making timely recommendations on their applicability to projects.Working with engineers in other departments to create system-wide solutions.Actively contributing to product reviews on target hardware.Serves as a leader within the group bySetting a positive example and leading by demonstrating a strong work ethic.Fostering ownership of the technical tasks by soliciting the engineers for their input throughout the design and production process.Developing long-term thinking in the engineering staff and fostering proactive problem solving approaches.Working to provide the engineering staff with the skills and knowledge to advance within the organization.Confronting and addressing all inappropriate business behavior among the staff and communicating such behavior to the Director.Working with the Director to accurately evaluate the engineering staff's strengths and weaknesses.

Requirements :Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experienceExperienceThree to four years as a Lead Software Engineer in a software development environment or equivalent experienceKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesAbility to engineer new code, and work with/enhance an existing code base.Proven ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.Proven ability to work in deadline driven environment, and respond creatively to pressure.Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent trouble-shooting skillsKnowledge and experience with embedded development environments.
