The cost of living is below that of comparable communities in most of the country, and affordable housing is plentiful. Job Duties: Maintain and, where appropriate, improve availability of campus data to campus constituencies and the public (30%): Develop a web-based campus fact book or series of fact sheets and user- friendly institutional research website with data accessing capabilities Maintain awareness of federal and state discussions that may impact the ability of the University to remain competitive through regular environmental scanning and networking Prepare appropriate communication of key institutional planning data and survey results to the campus community In conjunction with and under the direction of the Director, support enrollment management and planning (30%): Assist enrollment management units with the creation and maintenance of enrollment forecast models as needed Assist with the creation of models to forecast potential impacts of expected changes in campus, state and national priorities (e.g., the impact of changes in the high school graduating class on expected enrollment for UW-L new freshmen) Assist with meeting internal needs for institutional data mining, research, analysis, and interpretation including (20%): Campus ad hoc data requests Support for special studies Complete external requests for survey data and reports and ensure accuracy and timeliness in responses (20%). Among those included are: Common Data Set Major publisher surveys (e.g., U.S. News & World Report, Thompson-Peterson's, Princeton Review, etc.) Qualifications: Requirements for consideration Demonstrated experience with collecting, analyzing and presenting qualitative and quantitative data for data-informed decision-making Demonstrated knowledge and experience with scientific research methods appropriate to institutional research Understanding of and experience with a major statistical software such as SPSS or SAS Excellent general computer/database skills including experience working with database query tools and spreadsheet design and manipulation Excellent written and verbal communication skills Other Skills/Abilities Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work independently or as an effective member of a results-oriented team Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, ongoing processes where accuracy and timeliness are essential with minimal supervision Experience in higher education administration preferred Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions preferred Salary/Benefits: We offer competitive salaries and excellent benefits.
