The GIS Technician is responsible for creating, collecting, compiling, updating, manipulating and maintaining data for various projects as well as maintaining the accuracy of assigned GIS databases, technical files and documentation.Expected DutiesGathers, analyzes, and summarizes data, assist with creation of base maps, status maps, exhibits parcel digitization, Remote Sensing Conduct research via internet and phone Document standards established by team.Knowledge ofGIS database design principles and techniquesGIS database documentation techniquesProjection/Coordinate systemsPC (Windows XP) applications and operationsBasic understanding of Microsoft AccessEducation & Experienceof 1 year experience with ArcGIS 9xAssociate's Degree , GIS Certificate or two years of related courses preferred, offers a competitive wage, bonus incentive, and complete benefits package.
