Responsibilities: The Sr Customer Service Engineer normally receives no instructions on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Interfacing involves matters of substantial importance to the company where creating or maintaining effective working relationships is the prime concern. Solves complex technical and/or administrative problems. Uses professional concepts and company policies to solve a wide range of difficult problems in an imaginative yet practical fashion. Serves as liaison on specific projects between functional groups and/or customers. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data require a review of identifiable factors. Exerts judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Under minimal supervision, performs a variety of duties that may include but are not limited to: Performs off-site installation, servicing, and repair of complex equipment and systems Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment Serves as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects Works with system-level prototypes, including design Analyzes problems in each stage; rewrites test programs if necessary Assists in the development of alignment procedures, test procedures for systems, and repairable subassemblies Initiates Engineering Change Orders (ECO's) to correct problems Accompanies customer representatives to demonstrate systems operations Develops test procedures for components produced by new vendors Evaluates new products on the market Trains technicians in new procedures, new equipment, and transition from engineering to production Provides on-site training when required. Requirements: Experience in electronic system troubleshooting is a must. Must have excellent oral communication skills and the ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with customers. Applicant must possess a current active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required. Applicant must be willing to travel for extended periods of time and relocate.
