Responsibilities : Provides technical advice to superiors, the development community and the public. Maintains schedule of building plans review workload to achieve accurate and timely flow of work. Assumes responsibility for troubleshooting the building code review process to anticipate and prevent operational problems.Work PerformedManages Building Code/Development Plans Review process, provides supervision to Building Codes Plans review personnel.Provides technical assistance to the Building Official, inspection personnel and other plans examiners.Provides code clarification for plans review staff and the development community by interpreting regulations, codes, and state statutes.Provides help to the development community and the public with expedited plans review, recommends changes needed for code compliance and permit issuance.Provides internal liaison To TRC and various Internal departmental boards. Coordinates with the Building Official to insure integration with department goals and objectives.

Requirements :Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of Florida Building, Plumbing, Mechanical and National Electrical Codes.Knowledge of engineering practices and design concepts.Skill in the use of personal computer in a modern office environment.Skilled in reading construction prints/plans and interpret specifications and codes.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Ability to relay changes in codes policies and procedures to appropriate personnel.Ability to analyze problems, and to plan and develop alternatives and solutions.Ability to exercise sound judgment in explaining code requirements and supervising Plan reviewers.Ability to mediate disputes and complaints of developers.
