Responsibilities and Requirements : Disassembles, inspects, cleans, repairs, calibrates, tests, and performs periodic maintenance of general purpose and specialty test and measurement equipment,. 2. Operates such electronic test equipment as multimeters, frequency generators and counters, torque tools, measuring hand tools, thermodynamic and mass related devices. 3. Inspects, evaluates and determines necessary modification, performs basic repairs or removal of instruments or devices needing overhaul during scheduled maintenance. 4. Records and reports abnormal function of equipment or out of tolerance conditions and initiates corrective action. 5. Locates part sources, estimates costs and prepares requisition. 6. Reinstalls, tests, evaluates, calibrates, and maintains instruments or devices upon completion of repairs. 7. Documents daily record of inspection, maintenance activity, repair and other work performed within approved guidelines and procedures. 8. Communicates with customer staff and outside contractors in the calibration, repair and operation of equipment as necessary and coordinates with outside contractors regarding repairs covered by maintenance agreements. 9. Reviews and updates equipment, maintenance and calibration procedures. 10. Reviews and develops quality, calibration and instrument calibration procedures.
