Responsibilities and Requirements : As one of the newest members of the United Technologies Corp. family, Power is able to draw on the expertise of some of the more established divisions, including the industry leaders in fuel cell technology and building heating, cooling and control Power(`9s Stationary Fuel Cell Applications Engineering team is searching for an engineer to support our aggressive growth into the commercialization and deployment of fuel cell combined heat and power solutions. Strong leadership is required for the technical and financial assessment and conceptual design of prospective customer on-site power projects. Assessment of customer projects includes: (a2 Evaluating and qualifying the customer(`9s electrical and thermal energy demands (a2 Determining the optimal system solution and quantifying the performance and output capacity (a2 Developing a conceptual design of the electrical and thermal integration with the customer(`9s facility (a2 Developing a conceptual site layout, bill-of-material and installation scope of work (a2 Evaluating the customer(`9s financial value proposition with a detailed project proforma. This includes performing rate tariff analyses and modeling available energy market incentives. (a2 Site visits to potential customer sites throughout the United States will be necessary. This job requires close interaction with the UTC Power Sales team and directly with prospective customers.Bachelor(`9s Degree in engineering discipline (`3 mechanical or electrical preferred Master(`9s Degree in engineering and/or MBA a plus PE, CEM and LEED certification a plus 5 years of relevant experience in an energy-related field such as CHP and renewable energy projects, energy efficiency, energy management, and performance contracting. Knowledge and experience with fuel cells and other distributed generation equipment a plus. Construction management experience a plus. The successful candidate must be a motivated self-starter capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously with minimal management supervision.
