Responsibilities and Requirements : The candidate should have experience in the following areas:  Experience working in a fast paced transportation or logistics environmentTransportation of hazmat and deleterious materialsExperience with compliance, permitting, waste removal, and managementWorking knowledge of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)Efficient knowledge of the Clean Water ActComfortable with National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)Presenting reports to senior managementCompile statistics, prepare reports and maintain appropriate compliance recordsGreat Plains Oilfield Rental, a Chesapeake Energy Company, is seeking to fill the position of Environmental Specialist. This successful candidate will oversee the Great Plains environmental program in the Appalachian Region. While working under minimal supervision the employee will be responsible for maintaining environmental compliance, obtaining and maintaining proper permits, and acting as the liaison between GPOR and local organizations. The candidate should have experience in the following areas:  Experience working in a fast paced transportation or logistics environmentTransportation of hazmat and deleterious materialsExperience with compliance, permitting, waste removal, and managementWorking knowledge of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)Efficient knowledge of the Clean Water ActComfortable with National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)Presenting reports to senior managementCompile statistics, prepare reports and maintain appropriate compliance recordsLive or be willing to permanently relocate to the operational areaPrior experience in the Oil and Gas industry is preferredIn-depth knowledge of permitting, laws, and compliance issuesPast experience functioning in an environmental role with water and waste being areas of responsibility.
