Responsibilities and Requirements : A Grand Rapids Financial Institution is searching for an Underwriter on a temp to hire basis. The salary range will depend on experience. The ideal range will be $36-46,000 annually on the permanent basis. Qualified individuals may apply directly (see below) Job duties include: Underwrite all conventional loans for the secondary market and for bank portfolioResearch new products and guidelines as defined by multiple investorsSupport lenders and makes recommendations when appropriateAct as the liaison between lenders and investors; audit loans to monitor complianceAssist other team members with projects as neededThe ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication as well proficiency using automated systems. Candidates must have 5 years of experience in the mortgage industry. Candidates must have 2 years of experience in convention and governmental underwriting (FHA or DE); 2 years in rural development and MSHDA underwriting experience is a plus.
