Responsibilities: Sr Systems Engineer - Information Assurance Department This Senior Systems Engineer will participate in fast paced and flexible work environment in the Government Systems Information Assurance Department within . (NYSE: COL) is a pioneer in the development and deployment of innovative communication solutions for government applications. The Information Assurance Department is a growing organization within developing technologies to provide new Information Assurance products to our government customers. The successful candidate will participate in team of systems, software, and hardware engineers in support of system/subsystem design, development, and certification. The candidate must be highly motivated and a self-starter. The candidate will be responsible for developing, reviewing and evaluating all types of security related artifacts required in support of certification processes. Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills to allow successful interaction with internal and external customers. The candidate must also be able to interface with systems, software, and hardware engineers during the requirements, design, implementation, integration, and test phases. The ideal candidate must have the following demonstrated skills: 1) Demonstrated or capable of strong leadership with the ability to help oversee the analysis and design required to ensure a product can bedeveloped in accordance with a formal development and/or certification process. 2) Experience with system/subsystem design and development including creation of System Requirements Specification, System/Subsystem Design Documents, System Verification Plans and Procedures. 3) Experience with system/subsystem integration and test including formal verification. 4) Experience in interfacing with and making presentations to management, outside vendors and agencies (such as NSA) on a variety of technical information (preferably security related issues). 5) Knowledge of one or more of the following certification/accreditation processes: Department of Defense information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), Common Criteria (CC) Evaluation, and Federal Information Processing Standard 140 (FIPS 140). 6) Experience in using Clearcase for configuration control, Clearquest for defect tracking, DOORs for requirements capture, and proficient in the use of MS Office products including MS Project. Candidate must currently hold or be capable of obtaining a U.S. DoD SECRET (at a minimum) Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
