Job Duties: Lead the team in identifying relevant institutional data, design data gathering strategies, collect data, conduct analysis and prepare summary reports and recommendations for university-level long-range, strategic planning purposes; development of the annual Presidents University Work Plan; and departmental quality improvements. Design research studies, and conduct analysis and data interpretation on academic related topics, such as admissions, retention and enrollment management, student satisfaction and student success. Present oral and written reports on the findings to administration, deans, department chairs, and other university constituents. Develop standard procedures for collecting and reporting data to meet accreditation requirements. Coordinate development of the annual Presidents University Work Plan and collect data to prepare the annual work plan report. Provide leadership and management in the centralization and administration of university surveys including standard (internal/external) and ad hoc requests from faculty and staff to plan and develop assessment models and to plan, develop and administer departmental surveys. Work with the Institutional Effectiveness Advisory Council in providing education, consult on the development of departmental strategic plans, support data analysis, and advise the Statistical Consulting Center. Develop educational activities for all facets of the university on conducting assessments and identifying quality improvements. Organize the annual assessment & university improvement days, scheduling presentations on recent national research on higher education, assessment strategies, institutional data findings, data interpretation, strategic planning and related topics. Supervise and direct the Associate Director of Institutional Planning, Assessment and Research Services, clerical staff and student employees. Requirements: Masters degree required with 5 years combined experience in at least three of the five areas listed below; Doctorate preferred with 2 years combined experience in at least three of the five areas listed below (substantial doctorate coursework will be considered as experience). 2) Minimum of 2-5 years in research, surveying, assessment, data interpretation and strategic planning in the field of higher education. 3) Experience with quantitative statistical methods. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of research and trends in higher education, academic support services providers and non-academic assessment models; survey design, implementation, statistical analysis, and data interpretation; process improvement strategies and strategic planning in higher education. Skills: consulting and group dynamics, project development and implementation, designing and making presentations in a variety of formats including formal presentations and educational workshops, applying research methodology and statistical procedures to a wide variety of academic research questions. Abilities: Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong leadership skills, strong organizational skills, ability to work effectively one-on-one and collaboratively with faculty and a variety of people at different administrative levels. .
