Database & Software Support Specialist - (US-WA-Lynnwood - 98087) Minimum Education: None Job Type: Full Time Jobcode: N/A Email this job to yourself or to a friend | Job Match Test | Resume Guide Click Here to Apply Online Responsibilities: Responsibilities include assisting the lead database analyst in the design and testing of new relational databases; migrating data from legacy systems; developing complex reports from multiple data course including, but not limited to, Microsoft SQL Server and MYSQL; assist in providing analysis and support for administrative database servers, focusing on data security; helping maintain backup and recovery processes for administrative database servers; analyzing and resolving technical problems with the assistance and collaboration of senior application development services (ADS) staff; providing support for specialized administrative applications including, but not limited to, optical archives, electronic forms, digital signatures, and web based services; documenting problems and solutions; provide installation and upgrade of applications on both server and client sides; assisting in the testing of databases and applications for deployment; troubleshooting and analyzing problems related to software and databases; assisting in the research and implementation of solutions that will enhance the performance of various systems and applications; attending joint application development sessions and suggesting improvements to application and database design; providing consultation, design and development of output for locally-developed applications; provide training in the use of reporting and analysis tools. This position requires knowledge and abilities in the development of databases using current technology and best practices; taking projects from conception through to successful implementation; and understanding and contributing to customer functional requirements and translating them into technical design and development projects. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, independent, and collaborative. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate client focus and service orientation and demonstrate effective organization and planning of time and resources. This is a classified project employment position ending in two years. Other factors may work to ultimately extend the two-year period, but this cannot be guaranteed. The position reports to the Manager of Application Development Services. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or MIS; or a combination of equivalent education and experience. At least one year of experience in database design and development. At least one year of experience with Microsoft SQL Server. Strong oral and written communication skills with excellent listening skills. Ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse backgrounds, life experiences and abilities. .
