Responsibilities : Cleans and sterilizes dental instruments; prepares and arranges instrument trays; explains procedures to patients; passesdental instruments to the Dentist during dental procedures; assists the Dentist in preventive dental health educationactivities; gives post-op instruction to parents following treatment.Mixes impression and filling materials; operates oral evacuation equipment, retractors, and water and air sprays; andmonitors patient's behavior and vital signs as requested by the Dentist.Takes routine X-rays and photographs; processes and mounts film.Instructs patients and health care staff in basic oral hygiene.Inventories, receives, and stocks supplies.Maintains a variety of records; prepares variety of reports.Arranges delivery and set up of dental equipment in the schools.Serves as dental clinic receptionist and secretary.Performs related duties as required.Management reserves the right to add or amend duties at any time.

Physical requirements include sitting for extended periods of time, walking,bending, stooping, and lifting books and files of approximately 35 lbs or less. Work may include extended periods oftime viewing a computer video monitor and/or operating a keyboard. Work may include operation of a motor vehicle.Employee may be exposed to hazardous materials.
