Position Details
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Director of Fleet Assets and Maintenance to join their operation to oversee an excess of 1,400 assets. The main purpose of this position is to establish a centralized point of contact for all issues related to assets owned by the company including their acquisition, maintenance and sales.
Responsibilities
Managing total expenses, the P&L statement and maintain budget standards.
Devise and implement process improvement/standardization for the department.
Supervise and direct the daily activities for a team, including, hiring, training, development, performance evaluation, work assignments, recommending annual merit increases, initiating disciplinary actions, and resolving complaints and grievances for Regional Maintenance Managers and administrative staff.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendor suppliers.
Monitor department performance through costs and service measurements and metrics.

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree is required.
5 10 years experience with managing a large maintenance department/division, preferably Transportation Tractor/Trailer purchasing and maintenance experience with prior operational experience is preferred.
Analytical aptitude and ability to determine root cause failures.
Strong leadership and communications skills in a technical environment are critical in this position.
Experience at analysis and prioritizing conflicting priorities is required.
Ability to work in a team environment, while being self-directed, motivated and process oriented.
Experienced at hiring and developing high performing direct reports is required, with a proven track record of success.
Strong record of continuous improvement, rish management, cost controls and best practices management is essential in this role.
Experience in leading cost reduction projects focused on PMIs, repairs, turnaround time, MPG, price and vendor negotiations.
Vendor relationship management skills are mandatory in this role.
Chosen candidate must be proficient using MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Fleet Assets and maintenance management database, Data Analysis, AS400, etc.
