Environmental, Health and Safety experience/knowledge with respect to materials and processes Specific Job Description Position is in the Manufacturing Concepts group of Advanced Manufacturing Systems and Prototyping directorate of ADP. Specifically, the candidate will be supporting the Manufacturing Development programs that dwell in the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 2-6, Manufacturing readiness Level (MRL) 3-6 regimes. Progressive and aggressive applied research and development is the theme of this group and the ideal candidate will have a balance to exploit scientific principles and discoveries and apply them to ADP and Production programs. The candidate shall support senior engineers with materials and processing knowledge. Specific materials and processes of interest are high performance polymer composite systems and processing, joining/bonding, and other specialty materials. Ideally, the candidate would understand process“ microstructure“ property relationships. Due to the variety of materials and processes dealt with, proven ability to find information, synthesize it and exploit it is key. Must be able to manage small programs with budget and schedule fidelity. Shall be required to work with minimal supervision, therefore must be self-motivated and confident of working independently and with teams. Shall be required to perform both in-house experimental development, subcontracted research and collaborative work with university and government labs. Requires strong written and verbal communication skills. Occasional overtime, odd hours, and travel required. A combination of education and experience may be considered equivalent to the degree requirement. Case-by-case evaluation must occur. .
