Responsibilities: Develop plans and roadmaps for technology refresh and program insertion. Responsible for execution of IRAD and CRAD projects on schedule and within budget while meeting project objectives. Pursue Research and Development Contracts with government labs including Department of Defense research labs and DARPA. Responsible for software technical integrity for ADP programs. This position will be responsible for identifying discriminating technologies for LM Aero proposed programs and is responsible for transferring this technology to programs through direct reports and by direct contact with the programs leads. This position will work with peers in TD&I at all three sites and with core engineering in the pursuit of competitive technologies. Lead and manage the software engineers deployed to ADP MSA&SwE in Palmdale. Serve as the primary POC for staffing and personnel management of Palmdale site mission system software engineers assigned to ADP Projects. This includes performance management, program assignment, and merit reviews. Interface with numerous senior technical people at all LM Aero sites as well as other companies and third-party vendors. Prepare and deliver technical presentations inside and outside Lockheed Martin. The selected candidate is expected to devote 90% of their time on personnel management and the remaining 10% on direct technical work (small size CRAD programs and IRAD). The ideal candidate will have technical experience in all aspects of aircraft avionics software development, including but not limited to software process, software estimation, software metrics, software safety critical development processes, and development of software development plans. Candidate should have a thorough understanding of avionics mission software and the software development process. Candidate should have experience in the definition of avionics architectures for air vehicles. .
