Responsibilities : The senior research associate will provide operational leadership to a comprehensive product development, characterization, and commercialization program at the Eau Claire, Wisc, Corn Research Center. This position will provide overall management for trials execution at the center, and will be accountable for data results.Duties/Provide decision-making and staff leadership for execution of day-to-day research activities at the research center. Exercise independent judgment and professional concepts to solve complex management problems. Provide technical and operational leadership for planning, oversight, and analysis of all field experiments. These include yield testing, transgenic technology testing, disease evaluations, and agronomic projects. Assume responsibility for human, physical, and operational assets at the research center. Ensure a safe and team-oriented working environment exists at the center. Specific duties include: Oversee collection, processing, and quality assurance of data related to field experiments; lead, motivate, and organize full-time and temporary employees; manage inventories of supplies, equipment and seed; assist in analysis of data and writing technical reports; communicate with collaborators.

Requirements : DesiredMasters degree in plant breending, agronomy or scientific related field and minimum of 2 to 4 years of industry related experience required, or equivalent amounts of relevant education and experience. Bachelors degree in related studies with a minimum of 6 to 8 years of industry related experience would also be considered.Competencies and Experience DesiredStrong working knowledge of research experimental design and execution of field crop research, information management systems, Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong self-motivation and ability to initiate projects, make decisions, and effectively solve problems. Superior interpersonal communication and teamwork skills, conflict management, record keeping and managing multiple tasks. Work accuracy, timeliness, and adaptability to change are essential. Capable of working outdoors in various environments and willing to work additional hours/weekends during peak periods. The ability to acquire a commercial driver license is desired.
