Responsibilities : DescriptionResponsible for acquiring new accounts and for the ongoing maintenance of current accounts. Identifies potential customers, makes contacts, and develops strategy for selling merchant service products. Negotiates pricing with customers within established authority. May cross-sell other bank products depending upon customer needs and profile. Maintains reports and contact log for purposes of tracking sales and trends.Responsible for acquiring new accounts and for the ongoing maintenance of current accounts. Associate maintains reports and contact log for purposes of tracking sales and trends.First Data and have signed an agreement to create Banc of America Merchant Services, LLC, a merchant services alliance offering electronic payment solutions at the point-of-sale for merchants of all sizes. This joint venture group is seeking experienced sales individuals to join our team developing new merchant processing relationships with small to medium sized businesses.This position entails acquiring new merchant services relationships by building strong partner relations with internal sources such as consumer banking centers. This position also involves prospecting external sources such as association relationships, centers of influence and vendor relationships among others.Merchant Specialists are expected to use a combination of in person/phone sales presentations, internal influencing efforts, marketing efforts, and cold calling activities to succeed.Must have desire and ability to meet or exceed revenue and unit sales goals.Significant travel (not overnight) within the local assigned territory is sometimes necessary to fulfill job duties.

Requirements :A must have these skills to be minimally qualifiedOutside Sales Experience. Proven strong sales results and skills. Customer presentation and relationship building skills. Negotiation skills. Independent / Self motivated. Ability to work within a fast paced, competitive and autonomous environment. Strong verbal, writing, organizational and time management skills.PC literate in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.Desired Skills:Knowledge of bank products/ services. Bilingual abilities a plus, previous merchant services/credit card processing/payments sales experience.
