Responsibilities : Supervise field work, plant operations and prepare reports as assigned by the plant manager or assistant plant manager.Duties/Typically supervise employees assigned to their operational area including temporary and seasonal workers to address peak workloads. The number will vary by position/location and season. Coach growers on developing production management programs which enhance grower profitability. Maintain regular communication with growers and resolve conflicts as they arise. Maintain grower evaluation program which effectively and fairly measures grower productivity. Responsible for all aspects of grower contracts (implementation, price elections, contract elections, contract questions, payment problems). Supervise plant administrative staff on related matters. Manage seed acreage contract allocations to growers. Coordinate an Integrated Pest Management program including hiring and managing scouts, and developing a cost effective, environmentally sound method of enhancing yields. Coordinate production research programs at the plant level including initiation and follow through of programs to address specific needs of the plant environment. Be knowledgeable of current agronomic practices and government agricultural programs. Participate/ lead plant activities as assigned by plant manager. Participate in all related areas of Pioneer ISO 9000 Quality Management System to assure the highest possible product quality. Champion multiple safety programs and strongly support the growth and maintenance of Pioneer safety efforts. Strongly support Six-Sigma/Lean efforts throughout the entire operations.

Requirements :Bachelors degree in Agromony or related discipline. 3-5 years experience working with seed growers and seed plant operations.Competencies and Experience DesiredGood verbal and written communication skills and leadership. Ability to motivate, supervise and work well with others. Influencing skills, analytical skills, data management, data analysis, and statistical techniques. Technical background in seed & crop production. PC based software skills. Ability to work 50% of time in field/plant environment and have limited exposure to chemicals, dust, noise, and temperature. Moderate lifting is involved (60 lbs). Ability to walk fields, climb, and work long hours during peak seasons.
