Responsibilities and Requirements : The Beat/Assignment Editor (AE) will work under the guidance of the Supervising Editor. The AE is responsible for the direct handling of the coordination and facilitation of the numerous and variable editorial, logistical and technical details essential to the the News Groups newsgathering needs outside the United States. The Beat/Assignment Editor deals with all breaking news and planned events within his or her assigned region or bureaus.
