Job Description:
"HP Photosmart Studio is a Rich Media Work center that delights customers by providing fast, simple, and affordable ways to share and archive large quantities of digital images in new and compelling format & products. The solution represents an integrated system that ties in 1-N customer facing front end touch screen pc's and/or web based solutions for input of digital content and creation of the customer order (prints, photo albums, photo CD's, photo posters, and/or photo calendars) to a sophisticated back end print job controller that process, stages and submits orders to the appropriate back end output device: large format printer(s), 4x6 printers, large format HP LaserJet printers, and photo CD burn/print systems. HP Photosmart Studio represents a flexible/configurable small footprint system (compared to traditional retail photo finishing in-store eco-systems) with customer self-serve front end(s) and retailer facing back end(s) that support low cost, fast production of a verity of compelling breakthrough products digital imaging products. As part of the Photosmart Studio Solution Test team, you will be an integral part of the Product Life Cycle helping to realize hp's retail photo finishing services, solutions & strategy.
Tasks may include:
• Work closely with R&D and component test teams to understand details of new requirements, including assumptions and scenarios.
• Design test cases for new requirements and modify existing test cases based on changes to implementation of previously implemented features.
• Ensure test areas are well-defined for the assigned area of responsibility and that the test coverage/scope is comprehensive.
• Follow standard test metrics and reporting processes for assigned test area.
• During test execution, when test cases fail, characterize the failure and submit a defect into Mercury Quality Center Change Request along with supporting log files and details on the test failure.
• Evaluate usage of automated test suites for assigned test area. Qualifications: Domain Knowledge & Experience - Must Skills
• Bachelor (undergraduate) or Masters (graduate) in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 2+ years direct development or test experience in the creation of Win32/.NET based software solutions or equivalent.
• 2+ years product development experience through to release in Win32/.NET environments or equivalent.
• 2+ years of test case development and execution of Win32/.NET based software systems.
• Demonstrated ability to characterize defects using solid troubleshooting skills of a complex solution comprised of Win32/.NET based software systems, network connected commercial print systems, and commercial CD/DVD burners such as Rimage.
• Demonstrated ability to understand the system architecture and interactions between software/hardware/firmware in a complex system
• Demonstrated experience in writing test procedures, test cases, test plans
• Demonstrated experience in using and reporting test metrics.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and executing automated tests.
• Development experience in at least one of the following: C++, C# and/or Java.
• Domain knowledge: XP-Win32/.NET development environments and automation test tools.
Soft skills:
• Good written and oral communication.
• Team player, with a bias towards action.
• Ability to operate across organizations and communicate effectively.
• Demonstrated initiative in previous projects.
• Willingness to engage, learn, and generally make things happen.
• Fluent in English. "
